uLinkx is a Video Search Engine, pronounced as letter 'u' and Links. You can search for the videos from around the web at one place and at the same time you can organize your videos and socialize with friends. It's also provides you the functionality of video bookmarking.
uLinkx is remarkably different as it provides many functionalities at one place. You can search videos, organize it in playlist, share with friends, add videos from many video sharing web sites and earn money while sharing/using it.
No, we don't host video. We just keep useful information about the videos. We collect videos from many video sharing web sites, like Youtube, Google videos, Myspace, Metacafe, iFilm, Revver, Yahoo videos, Grouper, Dailymotion and many more.
uLinkx provides fast way to search relevant videos at one place and organize it in the form of playlist/collection. We collect popular videos from top videos sharing site and make it available to view at one place. It provides video bookmarking feature, where you can bookmark any videos from video sharing web sites using our bookmarklet.
Yes, it's free. You can use it to collect as many videos as you want. Similarly, you can create as many playlists/collection as you choose to.
Currently, we support Firefox, Internet Explorer 6+, 7.0 and Opera. It can work on other browsers too. Please let us know, if you want other browser support.

Getting Started
- How to create an account?
First time users can create an account by clicking on "Sign Up" and filling in the required information. We keep unique user id and email id, so either can be used for sign in. You'll be automatically logged in to your account.

uLinkx promises to keep user information under all its privacy terms. The information will be stored as mere data to be used by uLinkx in case needed to notify the user of any updates or changes in the terms of service etc. The user id will not be spammed or used for any other purpose. For user privacy, we don't keep password in clear text. Only encrypted password is stored in the database, which can be only verified by user.
Of course you can use it. For searching and watching videos, you don't need account. In fact, you can use our quicklist and history feature without having an account. But, we recommend to use uLinkx account as you can collect videos in playlist, add tags and earn money.
Click on "Forgot Password" in the Sign up or Sign in page. Enter your email id, which you provided during the sign up process and click on "Recover Password". An email will be sent to you about changing your password. Please check your email and follow the instruction.

Yes, uLinkx is a Video Search Engine. Our search response time is very fast. It always gives relevant search results. We collect videos from many popular video sharing web sites and keep useful information to playback at uLinkx site itself.
Besides searching videos on uLinkx, you can directly search on many popular video sharing web sites. After you search something on uLinkx, click on the "Youtube" tab to search directly on youtube, similarly for the other web sites click on their respective tabs. These search results will come directly from the video sharing site in real time. You can click add button to add videos in your playlist.
uLinkx is an intelligent search engine. As you search for certain videos, it keeps track of user activities and tries to bring relevant videos from around the web. This way, uLinkx self learn from your activities.
OpenSearch is a collection of technologies that allow publishing of search results in a format suitable for syndication and aggregation. More information about it at Answer.com. You can use our OpenSearch plugin to search from your browser.
We provides search API in form of RSS feed. You can write your own plugin to process RSS feed in real time to show the video search result to your user. Our search APIs are free to use. There is no licensing cost involved.

Playlist is a collection of videos. Sometimes people call it channel or collections. Playlist is an excellent way to collect your videos at one place and share with your friends.
Go to Playlist tab and click on "Create Playlist" sub tab. It will ask you for the playlist name, some description or notes about the playlist, tags you can add to the playlist and whether to make the playlist public, private or for friends. Private playlist can only be viewed by you and friends playlist can be watched by you and your friends.
As mentioned earlier, playlist is a great way of collecting all relevant videos at one place. Playlist can be easily shared with friends by clicking on "Email this" link. You can also put any playlist/collection on your website using our playlist widget. Similarly, you can add playlist google gadget to google personalized home page.

We also collect most popular videos from Youtube, Google videos, MySpace, Metacafe, Revver etc. We present it in our home page, so that you can view all popular videos at one place. Then you don't need to go to different websites to see popular videos.
As uLinkx collects videos from many video sharing sites, you can use our search engine. But, if you could not find the video you are looking for, you can search directly on Youtube, Myspace etc. You can also add video in uLinkx from any video sharing web sites using our bookmarklet or by manually providing information about the video.
If you don't want to watch the video immediately then you can collect those videos in the quicklist for later viewing. Quicklist link is located at the top right corner of the screen. This feature is also available for the non logged in user. Quicklist can also be used to selectively adding videos from quicklist to playlist.
For your convenience, we keep your video search history and video watch history. We don't share this information with anyone else, only you know what search you have done and what videos you have watched. If you want to disable this feature then you can go to History page and click on the "Off" button. This feature is also available for the non logged in user.
If user name is not mentioned for any video in the single video page, it means that video is available for collection. You can add that video to your playlist, it will assign that video in your name. In other words, you are the first person to collect that video. Similarly, if you are adding videos using bookmarklet then it may assign that video on your name provided it is not collected by others. By first collecting videos on your name, you can increase your potential of earning money. If you provide your google adsense id, we will display google ads using your account information. So, start collecting videos.

uLinkx provides you functionality of making friends and subscribing to users. If you like our site then you can invite your friends to join uLinkx. You can search for any user and look at videos, playlist collected by them.
You can search for the user, go to their profile page and click on "Add as friend" link on the left sidebar. User will be added to your friends list. You can see all your friends' videos/playlist at one place. If you have added someone as friend, then they can see your playlist with public and friends access right.
You can subscribe to any user and their videos. This can act as a quick list of user you like or want to watch their videos later. You can subscribe to user by going to their profile page and clicking on the "Subscribe to user" link.

Yes, it's true. We believe in giving opportunity to user to earn money. First provide your google adsense client information, then start collecting videos and creating playlist. We will start showing ads on your videos and playlist using your adsense information. If anyone clicks on those ads, money goes directly to your account. This money is directly provided by google in your account. More information here.
First, start collecting videos in your playlist. We will show ads using your google adsense account information on videos collected by you. There is no limitation to how much you can collect. Second, ads will be displayed on all your playlist using your adsense information. Third, if some goes to single video page through your playlist then your google adsense account information will be used to show the ads. So, don't get disappointed if some has already collected videos, you can always add it to your playlist and still earn money.
There are many ways of maximizing your earning. First, you have to start collecting videos on your name. Second, you have to start sharing videos with your friends and other websites. More people will see your videos, more likely they will click on the relevant ads. Playlist gives you better opportunity to maximize your earning because it shows ads using your information in playlist page and on single video page if any one goes to single video page through your playlist. Bottom line is that more you share, more you earn.

Tags can simply be understood as Keywords that basically categorize the items. uLinkx provides the users with the facility to tag their bookmarks. The user can use any word to tag their favorites or choose from the Tag Clouds. It helps search any particular bookmark easily.
Tag Clouds are basically collection of all the Tags used in the playlist. The size of the tags show the frequency of that tag being used by the users. The bigger the size the more number of times its being used.

A bookmarklet is a small JavaScript program that can be stored as a URL within a bookmark in most popular web browsers, or within hyperlinks on a web page.
While browsing videos on any top video sharing websites, if you want to add it to your collection then you just click on the "Add to uLinkx" bookmarklet button installed on your browser. It will add that video to your playlist. .

Widget is a small piece of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML-based web page. You can use widget to show information coming from other websites on your blog or websites. If you want to see playlist created by you on your blog/website then just take our widget code and put it in your webpage, where ever you want.
Gadget is a google version of widget. You can add google gadget to google personalized front page and google desktop sidebar. If you like google personalized page, you can add your playlist gadget to your personalized page.
We provide Widget/Gadget for popular video, recent videos, Search and playlist page. For adding gadget, you just click on

For adding the widget, you click on "Grab the Widget" link, it will show you the code to add to your web page. Copy the provided code and add it to your web page, blog etc. Search gadget/widget is our favorite one.

Really Simple Syndication is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites, including major news sites or personal weblogs. But it's not just for news. Pretty much anything that can be broken down into discrete items can be syndicated via RSS.
uLinkx support RSS 2.0 protocol. All the playlist can be accessed using the RSS feed. Popular and Recent videos/playlist can also be accessed using RSS feed.
We provide comprehensive media RSS feeds, which can be used as an API. In fact, all our widget/gadget uses RSS feeds to get the data and display it on web page. We encourage developer to use our RSS feed and build their own video search engine or write their own widget.
You can add RSS feed to your RSS feed reader for constant updates. You may use Google personalized homepage, or google reader or Netvibes. You may use RSS feed downloader to download all videos.
